1. Date School Established/Online:
South University was founded in 1899 as Draughon’s Practical Business College. In 1974, John T. South, III acquired the college from John Draughton, and later—in 1985—changed the name to South College. The name was later change again after the school received accreditation and awards.
South University is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
